Face The World

Face The World

We are only human, as Billy Joel sings, and all we need is faith so we can once again face the world.

We stumble because we have our own weaknesses, as Charles Xavier, the most powerful telepath in the world, was told by his wiser self from the future, but it does not mean we have lost our way forever.

We may seem to be frail human beings on the surface, but our true nature is perfect and immortal.

We are beings of pure light.

Away From The World

Saturday Stories
April 23, 2016 Edition
I like people but I can't be around them all the time. A part of the life I need is to just have a good book away from the outside world.

I have with me now The Four Agreements by the Toltec shaman Don Miguel Ruiz, here on my fourth day in my new apartment with the glass wall and the theater stage curtain.

I find comfort in silence. I find strength in solitude. I find spiritual renewal away from the maddening crowd.

Kindred Souls

Saturday Stories
April 16, 2016 Edition
I feel a kindred spirit in the violinist in Soul Stories where spiritual author Gary Zukav shows how to create authentic power through harmony, cooperation, sharing and reverence for life.

The violinist lets the music move her into the right groove as she blends with her fellow musicians.

To find that sense of oneness means complete self-responsibility, she says, and complete surrender to a Higher Power.

The Powers of The Universe

Saturday Stories
April 9, 2016 Edition
I've seen from my own experiences that I can be a true leader even in a crisis, and I know deep inside that I have what it takes to elevate my work to a high level of excellence.

The universe is guiding my life to take a new direction. I only know I have to follow this road because my soul needs to be where it will lead me.

Yet the smile in my heart comes from a deeper place. A friend had just asked why I seem to have no problems. I told him that happiness is not a physical object like an apple or a baseball glove, so it is not a matter of having it or not having it.

Happiness, I said, is a choice. You choose to be happy. You claim it as your birthright because you are forever connected, like two rivers to the sea, to your infinite Source.

Attitude of Gratitude

Saturday Stories
April 2, 2016 Edition
I'm filled with happy thoughts. I'll be flying like Peter Pan if I have a sprinkle of fairy dust even if I'm not in Neverland.

It feels right that I remember The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up because I'm still the little boy I was, still with a sense of wonder not completely defiled by the world of adults.

I see the buildings across the street through the glass walls when the operations manager asked me to come to his office yesterday. It was easy to feel on top of the world, with my mind playing Alicia Keys' New York anthem "Empire State of Mind."

I felt overwhelmed with humility because of their trust in me. I told him I was speechless, and the only thing I can say is that I give my word I'll show they made the right decision in giving me that promotion.

All the more ironic since I never even asked for it, but I know it's a way for me to once again prove to myself I can rise to any challenge.
