Losing My Religion

October 11, 2014

The question just came into my mind. I began to sense a glimpse of the unfathomable mysteries of the universe when I found myself on a spiritual journey more than a year ago.

The more I learned, the more I realized that some of the most life-changing revelations I had the honor of being witness to were only the proverbial tip of the iceberg. There is much, much more hidden beyond the infinity.

I find it important that I try to make the distinction between "spiritual" and "religious," if only to clarify my own thoughts.

As a child under a loving grandmother who raised me when my parents died, I grew up as a devout Catholic, to the point of almost becoming an altar boy. I learned how to recite the novenas to the saints and the prayers for the dead.

One of our rituals was to perform the sacrament of the rosary every evening at six during the Angelus, kneeling in the hall in front of the large portrait of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, whose eyes seemed to follow me wherever I go, watching my every move.

Losing My Religion

Sunday March 29, 2015 Sunday I woke up on this beautiful morning and I was greeted by a text message from friend congratulating me on my new work and wishing me a great weekend. In one of my texts I said: Be happy and the universe will give you moments of serendipity and inspirations. Believe and surrender to a Higher Power and you will see miracles. Life is beautiful and it is a wonderful world!
Saturday, March 28, 2015. I think I need to go downtown to buy some stuff. My plan is to go there first in my astral form to find a secluded place, then I'll whiz back in a blink and teleport my physical body like in the film Jumper. I tried doing just that. The word for the day is "tried."

Friday, March 27, 2015. I easily passed the assessment but some of my closest friends had to do a retake. I said in front of the class that the test is not even necessary even though I knew that I passed it with flying colors. I said it is stupid to take a test about subjects that were not even discussed for the purpose of eliminating people. Leadership is about inclusion. It is about developing people and boosting their motivation by building up their confidence. The trainer is the complete opposite of a true leader. I could have handled the class with a lot more class.
Thursday, March 26, 2015. I got crows on my mind. If you want to prove that not all crows are black, all you need to do is to show a crow that is white. The idea is that if a specific act (like clairvoyance) has been done by just one person (like the psychic Eileen Garrett), it means that it can be done. My present company gives the salary in real time, unlike the previous one with a bureaucratic payroll department with unnecessary cut-off dates and waiting time. So it can be done. I found my white crow.
Wednesday, March 25, 2015. I thrive in the company of decent people. I instantly bonded with my new friends in my present job. Most of us guys would go out of the building for lunch; our conversations are smooth and easy as if we'd known each other long. I like everybody in the class with no exception but I reserve my opinion about the trainer. I don't get carried away by first impressions but I really am a good judge of character.
Tuesday, March 24, 2015. I really am full of blessings. A friend from my previous company whom I call "my fellow Jedi" was asking me through Facebook if I'm happy in my new work. I gave a resounding yes. I already have a solid group of friends, I told her, and this is just my second day. I'm basically a happy person because I'm a natural optimist. I instinctively look for the bright side. If the world get covered with dark clouds, you will see me looking for the silver lining.
Nemo: I wanna go home. Does anyone know where my dad is?
Peach: Honey, your father's probably back at the pet store.
Nemo: Pet store?
Bloat: Yeah. Like, I'm from Bob's Fish Mart.
Gurgle: Pet Palace.
Bubbles: Fish-O-Rama.
Deb: Mail Order.
Peach: eBay.
