Franco and Ernesto were in a dim short-order restaurant in
Arranque sharing a plate of bihon noodles. The radio was playing "The Day
You Said Good Night" by Hale.
“The jailbreak is all over the
news,” warned Ernesto.
“Relax,” assured Franco. “I have a
gun.”
“Where –”
“From the warden.”
“Look, you should lie low for a
while,” said Ernesto. “There’s this guy I know, he can get you a job in this
new adventure camp in the mouth of Mayon Volcano. Tourists flock there to go
bungee-jumping into the lava. They probably need instructors.”
