Are You In A Friendly Universe?
The title is inspired by one of the many talks given by the
spiritual teacher Wayne Dyer. I think it is perfect.
I've been going around town today
to give away my stuff. I gave another batch of my clothes to the Red Cross. I
donated most of my books to the Cebu City Public Library, also on Jones Avenue,
leaving them to the security guard because it's closed.
I'm moving into a new house, same
rent and nearer to where I work, about as big as a telephone booth. I texted a
friend who lives near but she's in Mindanao. She asked if the place was safe.
"I'm safe everywhere," I
told her. "No harm can ever touch me." My guardian angel has made his
presence felt many times. I live in a loving and supportive universe.

I'm a child of this place, and I think to myself: what a wonderful universe!

"The first thing to understand here is that these are not just pretty words. Your life IS going to change...WITH OR WITHOUT YOU. Life is very impartial. It doesn't care whether you were part of creating change, or just an uninvolved bystander. It gives you the CHOICE, of course, but it doesn't care which you choose. It keeps on with its process, and it does it with you or without you as an active partner."

"A dear one has died. Or a romantic relationship has ended. Or a job that was once going to be your career has just evaporated. Or your child has left home. Or you've moved to a new town. Or you're suddenly facing a health crisis, or a financial crisis, or a crisis of faith . . ."
". . . whatever the circumstance, you are sure about one thing: Nothing will ever be the same."
"Deep sadness, even bitter negativity, can sometimes follow. What to do then? End the life you've been living? Yes."

“You don’t want a million answers as much as you want a few forever questions. The questions are diamonds you hold in the light. Study a lifetime and you see different colors from the same jewel. The same questions, asked again, bring you just the answers you need just the minute you need them.”

"We're talking about a complete overhaul here, from top to bottom, inside and out. After all, your life has been turned darned near inside out anyway, so why not finish the job? Only now, in the way that YOU want it to feel, rather than in the way that it feels you are being forces to accept..."
