I've been traveling since I was a kid. I remember when I was in my early teens. I was then living somewhere in the mountains of Southern Tagalog region of the Philippines. I was with a friend, who was like an older sistem to me, walking towards the wet market on a dry morning. The song Same Love was playing on a radio somewhere.
"I can't believe I'm now living here," I particularly remember telling her. I meant that in a good way. I was in a new place, with new friends. It's a whole new beginning. So for me, Same Love, a song about losing a lover, is about a having a brand new life.
