The series of unfortunate events in Japan – the earthquake, the tsunami and the nuclear accident – are the not the punishments of a vindictive deity. But they have global repercussions. It heartens me to see various governments and NGOs, including our own, proactively assisting the thousands of families affected by these Non-Acts of God. In a world transformed by technology, in a planet in the verge of transition, we need human solidarity now more than ever. (See also “Do You Believe The World Will End In 2012?”)
